Alone Time
When we were filming our latest music video for the song “Atlas,” our director Maxwell Byrne (1tbsp, Golden Vessel) gave the same excellent advice: prioritize at least 30 minutes to an hour to be alone and just spend time with your thoughts. Touring can be very claustrophobic when you’re in each other’s skin 24/7, and this advice was helpful to everyone.
Portable Charger
Our singer, Tyler, told me just before we went on our first US tour in 2024 that I should invest in a portable charger for the long journeys in the tour van. This was one of the best pieces of advice I ever got—it saved me on so many occasions.
Insulated Water Bottle
This goes beyond just touring, but we’re big water drinkers, and with all the antics that go with being on tour, the best thing you can do is always stay hydrated. There’s lots of fun to be had, but also lots of shows to play, and water will get you feeling in prime condition.
Recommendations from Fans
There’s only so much Google can tell you about the best local spots to check out. One thing we love to do on tour is speak to the locals at our shows about the best places to eat and see, and it’s always the best recs since you’re getting it straight from the source.
Immerse Yourself
We love our extended family, and we inevitably leave each tour with so many new friends of the band—and that comes down to simply immersing yourself in the experience. Talk to fans, talk to the support acts, talk to your barista in the morning—they love to come across touring bands, and it’s crazy for us to think about the fact that we have friends all over the world from doing this.
