In this Crazy Tour Stories segment, the Christian pop band, Presence Music Band, shares one of their stories from being on the road. You can check out the story below:
We are a Christian pop country band and exclusively play Christian music. We got asked to play a casino on very short notice, 10 days before New Year’s Eve, because an Alice In Chains cover band backed out. We made a deal with the venue that we would play half Christian pop and half country music covers. They must have been desperate, cause they took the deal!
We brought in our buddy Rafe Carlson to learn our songs in just one or two practices and help with a good bit of the country covers. The night came and it was the first concert this casino had since Covid, and the place was packed with about 200–300 people. It was wild seeing people drinking and dancing to songs you’d normally hear in church — definitely a little strange, but super cool too.
All in all, we got really positive feedback and we got to share a bit about our faith and music with a lot of folks who may have never heard about Jesus before. 5/5 stars — would play church music at a casino again!
