If I could go out on tour with anybody, the lineup would be enough to make me faint. I’d probably stick with the modern artists, especially the ladies. They know more than anyone what touring in this day and age is like, and how much different it must be as a woman in the industry.
With that being said, Kaitlin Butts and Sierra Ferrell would be top of the list for me. I’ve been lucky enough to see both perform live, and their touring schedules have been insane these past couple of years. These ladies know how to command a crowd and keep their attention. The theatrics of their performances and brand pique my interest as well. That’s what keeps me from adding any artists from back in the day to this list. I don’t think performances in country music used to be as theatrical as they are now, and I appreciate all the thought and time put into stage decorations and a bit of choreography.
If I ever got the chance to hit the road with either of these two ladies, no doubt I’d take it. They know the ins and outs of life on the road, putting up with an otherwise all male band, maintaining and utilizing touring for their social media presence, and staying true to themselves when pressure gets high and sleep gets low. I’d be lucky to share a stage with these powerhouse performers any day.
